About

What this is, and what it is not.

Building a bridge to connect the diaspora in Paris

01

Who we are

Black Paris Social is a community project. It is not a company, not an agency, and not an account to follow for reach. It is a project by and for the Black diaspora in Paris.

The name says what it does: a bridge. Not a directory. The difference matters. A directory lists things at you. A bridge puts you in the same room as people you have not met yet, and lets the city be somewhere you belong rather than somewhere you are visiting.

Our posture

The Instagram profile carries one line that sets how we work: for us, they/them. That is the community's own framing and we hold it. We write about Black culture in Paris as something worth knowing properly — not as a list, not as a trend, not as a mood.

We are queer-inclusive by stance, not by slogan. That means the room is built so it can hold everyone who comes to it.

What is honest here

The photography on this site was generated for Black Paris Social. It is made to set the scene, and it is never presented as a picture of a real event or a real person. Where we could not verify something — a date, a venue, a number — we left it out rather than fill the gap.
